1962:
Erwin Hymer takes over the rights to the manufacture of aluminium ladders from the aircraft manufacturer Dornier and starts production with Fritz Lang in Neumühle near Wangen on 1.7.1962.
1970:
Construction starts at Käferhofen.
1971:
Introduction of the screwed stile-rung joint.
The Hymer trademark - the red stripe - is born.
1974:
Start of production of equipment for buses.
1979:
Market launch of the beaded rung-stile joint, today this is "state of the art".
1991:
A new corporate design is developed and the ladder with the red stripe is more strongly positioned.
2003:
ALPE Leitern und Gerüstehandel is merged into Hymer-Leichtmetallbau. Establishment of Hymer-Teknik, Ankara/Turkey. The production of bus ceiling systems starts there in August.
2004:
Opening of the Michalovce site in Slovakia and foundation of the joint venture FarHym in Turkey.
2007:
Start of "Experience Hymer" and presentation of the Hymer Comfort Assembly for mobile towers.
2008:
Relaunch of the 3 professional ladder ranges with production launch in the 2nd quarter.
2009:
The first web-based configurator for ladders goes online.
2011:
Würth and Dethleffs honour Hymer for its outstanding service quality.
