New ways of advertising

16.03.2012

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is always open to new ways of advertising. As such, we were not represented at the International Hardware Fair in Cologne in March with a stand but we did have a presence.

Everywhere around the trade fair site, short messages reading (in German) "For the upwardly mobile!", "Lost a ladder?" or "Level change?" attracted attention with reference to the Hymer homepage.

his so-called "street branding" was realised with a special type of guerrilla marketing. In this case, short messages are stamped out to form templates. These are then placed on dirty road surfaces and the message is brought to life by cleaning the surface inside the template with pressurised water from a high pressure cleaner. A nice clean way to advertise!

Top score in every respect !

29.02.2012

One of the business principles at Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is "operational excellence". Our partner, WÜRTH International AG, has again discovered that we put our principles into practice. As last year, we have in 2012 again been awarded the Würth Award for our commitment to quality and reliability of supply. The award is assessed on level of service, complaints rate and reliability, and also communication and innovation. Hymer-Leichtmetallbau was thoroughly convincing in all areas and achieved the maximum score of 100 points. Top score!

This achievement was not by chance: we have been using the COT (Complete On Time) index to measure and analyse our ability to deliver for five years now. It is a measure of the proportion of deliveries dispatched in full and on time. This proportion averaged 98.5% in the last 15 months in the Ladders and Towers Division and never fell below 96.8%, even during unexpected peaks in demand.

We are very proud of our staff and take winning this prize as encouragement to offer all Hymer customers an outstanding service level in the future, too.

E.I.S. NOW HAS MORE FROM HYMER

16.02.2012

E.I.S. is an association of independent specialist wholesalers in the industrial B2B sector and has been distributing Hymer products for many years. Our collaboration is now being extended. This is documented in the new Basics catalogue that E.I.S. will be publishing in April 2012. Hymer-Leichtmetallbau will have over 30 pages offering professional ladders and towers for industry and trade in this 1200 page product catalogue for production equipment and warehousing technology. A comprehensive range of Hymer products is thus available at practically 100 retail locations throughout Europe.

The member companies of E.I.S., largely SMEs, predominantly supply business customers in industry, the trades and local government. The technical expertise of the retailers making up the E.I.S. is particularly to be found in construction fittings, ironmongery, structural elements, fastenings, chemical-technical products, tools and machinery, welding, industrial health and safety and production and warehousing technology. The E.I.S. places great store by "Made in Germany" products and reliable, medium-sized suppliers. This fits naturally with Hymer-Leichtmetallbau, a family concern that develops and manufactures its products in Germany.

We are delighted with this cooperation and wish E.I.S. members every success with Hymer-Leichtmetallbau ladders and towers.

P.S.: You may find out more about E.I.S. at: http://www.eis-verband.de

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau receives AEO certificate

16.12.2011

From 01.01.2012, Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is in possession of an AEO certificate for simplifying operations in accordance with customs law, making the company an "authorised economic operator (AEO)".

Since 1st January 2008, companies located in the European Union who participate in customs activities are permitted to apply for the status "authorised economic operator (AEO)". The status of authorised economic operator is valid in all member states and is unconditional.

The aim is to safeguard continuous flow in the international supply chain from the goods manufacturer to the end consumer. To achieve this, international recognition of the AEO status is necessary. So far agreements have been signed with Switzerland, Norway and Japan. Further negotiations with third countries (in particular USA and China) are currently underway.

The advantages that an authorised economic operator can benefit from are laid down in the respective agreement. The main advantages are consideration of authorised economic operator status during risk assessment with subsequently fewer checks and consideration of other safety-related measures.

Moreover, the status of authorised economic operator within the market economy is also perceived as a seal of approval that promises advantages over the competition.

Further information on this subject can be found here.

Your trust is our greatest asset. To emphasise this for the future, we have adapted our market position and sharpened our profile. The message from today that we would like to convey to our customers and co-workers alike is "Trust made easy". • We are the strong brand for professionals.
  • We offer products and services for our customers with added value.
  • We safeguard the highest automobile standards in terms of product and processing quality.
  • We conduct our business with operative excellence in all areas.
  • We ensure that careful consideration is given to environmental awareness in our decisions and processes.
  • We identify with our regional sites and assume social responsibility.
  • We view financial independence and autonomy as part of our self-image.

The motives of our current image campaign show Hymer products in everyday use and emphasise how indispensible equipment quality is. "Delivering quality requires quality in delivering".

After all, we know first-hand what the conditions are like on a construction site and during assembly operations and always have them carefully in mind during product development.

Not just new on the inside!

Forecast for spring 2012

13.10.2011

Since the start of October, the central office building of Hymer-Leichtmetallbau looks like a big construction site. The reason?

Following complete renovation and remodelling of the inside of the building, comprehensive renovation measures are now being taken on the roof and façade:

  • New façade including thermal insulation composite system with 140 - 200 mm insulation.
  • Sunscreen integrated in façade with automatic control via wind and sunlight monitors.
  • Windows replaced by new triple glazed aluminium windows.
  • Roof overhauled with 200 mm rafter insulation.

Works should be completed by the spring of 2012. In addition to a new, modern and bright look, Hymer-Leichtmetallbau expects to make a saving of far in excess of 50% in the heating costs for this building thanks to these measures.

The company thereby proves once again how consistent it follows its mission statement: "We live and work in nature and nature’s conservation is close to our heart".

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau drives up to Wilhelmshöhe hillside park

Beteiligung von Hymer an Forschungsprojekt "Elektromobilität"

22.09.2011

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is taking part in a pilot project of Germany's Federal Ministry of Research on the topic of electric vehicles

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau's automotive sector is now part of a pilot project promoted by the Federal Ministry of Research at the university of Kassel.

The challenge of the so-called "electromobility concept with partially autonomous vehicles" (otherwise known as: E2V) lies in developing single axle, two-wheeled electric vehicles for up to two people that provide an intelligent mobility solution for older or mobility impaired people. In this instance, the occupants do not have to actively engage in the control of the vehicle as a driver assist system, GPS data processing and also perimeter sensors are integrated in the vehicles. It is hoped that in years to come the compact, manoeuvrable and lightweight electric vehicles will be seen in town centres, traffic-free residential areas, parks and cultivated landscapes where site restrictions or certain environmental and touristic aspects prohibit the use of conventional road vehicles. The practicality of the new electric vehicles will be put to the test at Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel, Europe's largest hillside park.

Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is one of six industrial partners involved in the pilot project. The automotive arm of the company is working on the development of the running gear, the bonding or joining technology and the body. Here, our immense range of experience in the development of vehicle components for the area of buses and camping is called upon.

Research initiatives like the E2V project aim to help Germany achieve a leading role in automobile construction now and also in the "electromobile future". Germany's federal government intends to launch about 1 million electric vehicles onto Germany's streets during the first phase by 2020 and thereby turn the German motor vehicle industry into a leading provider of electromobility. Hymer-Leichtmetallbau is at the forefront of this development.

Increased stability – increased safety!

02.09.2011

As a specialist in professional ladders and platforms for industry and trade, Hymer Leichtmetallbau is constantly working to make their products even safer and easier to use. With this in mind, we have established that bending of ladder stiles is the most common cause of damage when ladders are being handled and transported.

To minimise this risk of damage for you and your customers, we have consequently decided in future to strengthen all ladders with a high start (distance from the floor to the first rung) using two braces. This will considerably reduce the risk of damage, even if the ladders are not handled correctly.

We are upgrading the following products in this way - with no effect on price:

  • 4024 Double-sided freestanding step ladder
  • 4026 Freestanding step ladder with safety bridge, single-sided
  • 6011 Rung leaning ladder
  • 6023 Double-sided freestanding rung ladder
  • 6045 Combination ladder, two-section
  • 6046 Extension ladder, two-section
  • 6047 Combination ladder, three-section
  • 8024 Double-sided freestanding step ladder
  • 8026 Freestanding step ladder with safety bridge, single-sided

This solution has been gradually introduced into our production from the first week of September.

The part numbers for these products remain unchanged.

YOU CAN SAFELY SAY THAT NATURE IS CLOSE TO OUR HEART

01.08.2011

"We live and work in nature, and sustaining that nature is close to our heart" - says one of Hymer Leichtmetallbau's company principles.

Being consistent in following this philosophy, the company reorganized its power supply in May 2011 and now only draws current generated by 100 % renewable energy.

Calculating on the basis of its energy consumption, HYMER Leichtmetallbau will thus be saving over 750 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the next three years.

WE ARE WÜRTH IT

18.07.2011

The renowned Swiss company WÜRTH International AG has made the Ladders & Towers division of Hymer-Leichtmetallbau an A supplier and awarded it a maximum score in "operational excellence" .

The company plans growth in double digits for 2011.

Configuring without studying

01.07.2011

New configurator for steps, platforms and landings goes online.

Since 2009, HYMER has offered its customers the opportunity of configuring and calculating fixed ladders through its Online Configurator.

All the dimensions and information relevant to the project are queried in a few, simple steps. By way of a result, the customer receives a quotation, a detailed drawing and a bill of materials for the ladder.

With the latest update, this is now also possible for steps, platforms, podiums and crossings from the HYMER modular system. Just log in and try it out!
